Geonav windBesides all the functions typical of the GEONAV POWER, the GEONAV WIND, designed for sailboats, reads the data coming from the wind station and shows them according to the boat’s polar curves. Moreover, the graphical data presentation allows tuning the boat’s performance.

Routes, Tracks and Markers can be easily trasferred from your PC to other Geonav plotters and vice versa.

GEONAV WIND features the A.I.S. function: when connected to a specific receiver, this device will allow you to indetify every boat or ship transmitting this specific signal, and to see its position directly on the cartography.

The Meteo module is included beginning from the release 2.0.3

The GEONAV WIND uses Navionics Gold or Platinum charts stored on SD or on CompactFlash™ support.

HW REQUIREMENTS
For the best use of GEONAV products the minimun hardware/software requirements are:
Windows® 98 or higher
Pentium 100 or 300 MHz or higher
RAM memory: 256 Mb
Hard disk: 2Gb free
SVGA card or above
1 USB port for EUTRON SmartKey
1 serial port or USB serial converter for NMEA signal input
CD-ROM driver for software installation
Windows® 98 or above
CompactFlash / SD cartridge™ reader for reading cartography.

GEONAV WIND ADDS-ON:

ARPA MODULE
Can be used only if the PC is interfaced with an ARPA Radar. ARPA targets are boats identified and followed calculating their routes and speeds, so as to check if the course followed may cause a collision with another vessel.

TIDAL STREAM MODULE
Allows the user to compute and display (numerically and graphically) offshore tidal stream directions and speeds for North East Atlantic seas. Information provided by the software allows plotting a route, defining the corrections to apply to balance the stream effects.
User can also ask this module to work out the shortest passage time.

“ROUTAGE” MODULE
Allows the route planning according to the weather forecast (wind speed and direction) and the vessel characteristics (polar diagram).
The software is available as an option for GEONAV WIND only, and requires the METEO MODULE.
